Clint, Nick and Henry had problems with the dust and punctures on the first day. The route was very tight and narrow with trees on both sides causing side wall punctures. Mark was well up not far behind Atang but about 30 km after the refuel he crashed into a tree and the car was unable to continue. All three BATS left were strong after the first day and only needed routine maintenance to prepare for the 500 km final day.

Clint and Nick had a clean run back with less dust and no punctures and ended up finishing 2nd and 3rd in Specials and 2nd and 3rd in Class A. Henry was chasing hard but unfortunately also hit a tree and was knocked out of the race.
